MARKETING & ENGAGEMENT
Job Title Marketing & Engagement
Location The Stiwt Theatre, Rhosllanerchugog, LL14 1RB
Hours 09:00-17:00 x 3 days per week
Salary £13.50/hr
About Us
We’re a theatre rooted in community and with a big heart, run by passionate people who believe in the power of performance to bring people together. As we head into the second century of our theatre’s story, we’re building a fresh, creative team — and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to help us shape the next chapter.
About the Role
As Marketing & Engagement Officer, you’ll help us shout about what’s on, who we are, and how people can get involved. To continue our development as a central figure of the community you will be responsible for encouraging people to join us in the audience, volunteering behind the scenes, or stepping into the spotlight by creating their own community group hosted by The Stiwt Theatre.
You’ll lead on our website and social media, making sure everything we do is visible, accessible, and come alive online. You’ll also play a key part in volunteer coordination, helping to welcome new people and keep our programme running smoothly.
You don’t need to be an expert — just full of ideas, ready to learn, and up for being part of something creative, local, and evolving.
What You’ll Do
Bring the Theatre to People’s Pockets
- Keep our website updated with show info, news, and stories
- Create and share social media content that’s fun, accessible, and reflects who we are
- Use video, photos and behind-the-scenes content to tell our story
- Help promote shows, events, and opportunities to get involved
Grow and Support Our Volunteer Community
- Help recruit, welcome and support volunteers across front of house duties
- Assist with scheduling of volunteers to ensure rotation of volunteers
- Be a friendly point of contact and create a welcoming space
- Celebrate and recognise the people who power our theatre
Who You Are (or Might Be)
You are enthusiastic about harnessing the power of social media and have ideas to make a bricks & mortar building have an existence online.
More than anything, you care about people, creativity, and making things happen.
Essential
- Confident with social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)
- Able to write clearly and engagingly for a public audience
- Friendly, organised, and willing to work with a range of people
- Excited by theatre, events, and community creativity
Desirable
- Basic video editing and design skills
- Experience with volunteering programmes, especially in the arts
- Interest in accessibility and making things more inclusive
- This role would benefit from being bilingual. We’re proud to be based in a Welsh-speaking community and want our theatre to be open and welcoming in both languages.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a theatre heading into its next 100 years
- Experiment to develop broader skills in digital marketing and community engagement
- Work in a creative, friendly, values-led environment
